To bloom is to grow and flourish–to mature into one’s full potential. To nourish is to support, promote, and sustain that growth.
Much of our life can be likened to planting a garden. One could simply throw seeds on rocky soil, but those seeds may never grow, or if they do, they won’t have what they need to nourish and sustain their growth and they will wither and die. Seeds need good, healthy soil to sprout, they need water to quench their thirst and grow deep roots, they need air to breathe and bloom, they need energy from the sun to produce good fruit, and they need someone to care for them to ensure the weeds don’t take over. Just like the plant, we need many things beyond the nutrients in our food to nourish us so we can grow and flourish. We need other ‘foods’ like healthy relationships, physical activity, a fulfilling career, a spiritual practice–really anything that ignites your passions. These primary foods feed our soul more than any food could. When these are in balance, your life feeds you, and the food on your plate becomes secondary. I want to help others realize this and reach their full potential, to thrive, and to revel in the beauty of life.
